He married Virginia M. Anderson on April 27, 1946 in Two Rivers.
Bill was a retired US Army veteran serving 28 years. During his highly decorated military career he served during WWII and the Korean Conflict receiving a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and a POW Medal. Bill retired with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ellis.
He is survived by a grandson, Michael A. Krueger of Wolverine, MI., a granddaughter, Jessica Krueger-Collins of Hays, two great granddaughters, Trinity and Leyna Krueger of Wolverine, MI. and a sister, Mildred Eaton of Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia in 2002 and a son, Charles William Krueger in 1998.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery with Military Honors by Ft. Riley Honor Guard. Visitation will be Tuesday 5 PM - 8 PM and Wednesday 9 AM - 9:30 AM. A parish vigil service will be at 6:30 PM Tuesday all at Keithley Funeral Chapel 400 E. 17th Ellis, KS. 67637.
