Ernestine was the daughter of George Bauer and Emma Johanna Last Bauer. She was a concert pianist before she married and she also did beautiful needlework. As a young woman, she attended Jefferson School (Seventh Ward School) in Sheboygan.
Ernestine married Frederick William Scholte at the age of 21 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. They had two daughters, Myrtle and Margaret.
***NOTE*** There was a lot and headstone for Ernestine next to her husband Fred Scholte but she actually WAS NOT buried at Depines cemetery. She also was not buried in the Bauer lot (with her parents) in Wildwood cemetery in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
***UPDATE***: Ernestine died in Manitowac and her body was donated to science, specifically, Marquette Medical School. Her ashes were scattered near Marquette University Chapel.
