REMAINS TAKEN ON TO CHICAGO FOR BURIAL

Friend, relatives and neighbors of the late Mrs. A. L. Belt gathered at the Welin funeral home for funeral services held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Mrs. Belt, who resided at 1403 Marshall Street, succumbed while visiting in the home of her son, Fred, in Hollywood, Calif.
Dr Frank Beau, pastor of First M.E. church, was in charge of the funeral. Mesdames John Shelley and James Nutt sang, "shall We Gather at the River" and "When They Ring Those Golden Bells for You and Me." They were accompanied by Mrs. Helen McHose.
Following the funeral services the remains were taken to Chicago for interment.
74 Years Old
Mary Leach Belt, wife of A. L. Belt, was born Oct. 19, 1858, in Buchanan County, Iowa. She departed this life Feb. 16 1933, at Hollywood, Calif., at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 28 days.
She was the daughter of John H. and Elizabeth McCluer Leach. She spent her youth on the home farm and attended the rural schools. She was married on Sept. 29, 1880, to A. L. Belt. A year later they came to Boone to live. After more than twenty years in this place they moved to Chicago, returning to Boone about fifteen years ago. They recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
Had Three Children
Three children were born to them. One son, John L. Belt, had preceded his mother in death. Mrs. Flora Smith lives at Des Moines, IA. Fred L. Belt resides at Hollywood, Calif. It was while enjoying a visit to his home that the unexpected summons came which called the beloved mother to the Unseen World.
Mrs. Belt joined the Methodist Episcopal church in her early years. She had lived a consistent and faithful life. She was a loving wife, a good mother and a true friend. Her departure brings deep sorrow to the bereaved husband, the son and daughter, to six sisters and one brother, who survive her. There are also seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
