Alberta Ruth Crandall, 99, of Cedar Rapids, IA, formerly of Marshalltown, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2011, in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at Pursel Davis Funeral and Cremation Care in Marshalltown.

Alberta was born April 22, 1912 to Rollie and Hazel Blanche Wilson Billman in rural Marshall County. She graduated from Melbourne High School. Albert was a lifelong resident of Marshalltown until moving to Cedar Rapids in 1997 to be closer to her family. Alberta was united in marriage to Carl E Crandall on December 10, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, IA. He died in 1974. Alberta was employed with the Britnall Stores for four years and Younkers as a department manager for 43 years.

Alberta will be missed by her brother Rollie Billman of Marshalltown, her sister-in-law, Eunice Billman of Tucson, AZ, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.
