Jeanette Aardema, 92, of Sioux Center died Friday, August 30, at the Sioux Center Hospital nursing wing. Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, at the Memorial Funeral Home chapel in Sioux Center with the Rev. Dennis Wilcox officiating. Burial was at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center.

The former Jeanette Schortinghuis was born March 26, 1899, in Zaandam, The Netherlands.

She came to live In the United States in 1912. She attended grade school in Watha, North Carolina. She married Nick Aardema January 21, 1920, at Sioux Center. He died July 7, 1961.

She was a lifelong member of Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center.

Survivors include two daughters, Grace Kelderman of Jamesville and Irene Aardema of Orange City; one brother, the Rev. John Schortinghuis of Sioux Center; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two greatgreat-grandchildren.
