Captain U.S. Army, Vietnam War-Cpt. Brodt was killed in action by small arms fire while serving as a {31542} Unit Commander on 5-29-1963 with DeT A1-114 {Son-HA} 1st Special Forces Group of the U.S. Army, MAAGV. He was killed along with Pfc. Neil K. MacIver of Silver Spring, Maryland.

He is the husband of Mrs. Leason Chance {Bovard} Brodt of Cocoa, Florida, and the father of twin daughters, Miss Leslie Ann, and Miss Catherine Croix.

Captain Brodt {19785} is a 1954 graduate of West Point, and was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina after graduation and marriage. His twin daughters were born in Germany, and he left the Army in 1957, and only to return in 1962 during the Kennedy Era, and to die on the President's Birthday in 1963 as an Army Green Beret soldier.

Awards: Armed Forces Expedtionary Medal {Vietnam}, Purple Heart Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Jump Wings, National Defense Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, 2nd award.
