MIDVALE, Utah—Funeral services for James Ross Masters were conducted Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the Union First Ward Chapel, 7400 South 1100 East in Midvale. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery in Manila. Graveside services were also in Manila.

Masters, 51, died Jan. 10, 1986 in Salt Lake City.

He was born Oct. 1, 1934 in Green River, a son of William Rex and Susie Anson Masters.

He married Mary Gordon Nov. 10, 1962 in Salt Lake City. They were later divorced. He later married Colleen Overy June 8, 1984 in Salt Lake City.

He served four year in the U.S. Navy from 1954-58. He graduated with a B.S. degree from Brigham Young University in 1964.

He was a salesman in Salt Lake City for many years. He was a former co-owner of J&M Industries-American Fleetcare. He coached several youth teams. He was active in the LDS Church as a high priest in the Union Third Ward.

Survivors include his wife of Midvale, Utah; three daughters and one son, Mrs. Mark (Stephanie) Futscher, Chellie Masters, Sara Masters and Rex Masters, all of Sandy, Utah; father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Masters, Escalante, Utah; two sisters, Mrs. George (Sheila) Palmer of Rock Springs, Mrs. Tom (Linda) Taliaferro of Farson; two stepbrothers, Vernon Reid of Las Vegas, Nevada and Larry Hale of Scotland; two stepdaughters, Josceline Child, Aimee Child of Midvale and two granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his mother.
