On October 5, 1881, A G Wishon was united in marriage with Miss Henrietta Emory, a native of Steelville, Mo., and the daughter of Azro Emory of St. James, Mo., members of the Emory family that has already given to the advance intellectual guard of America a leading bishop, an educator, a soldier of prominence and a naval official who distinguished himself while commanding the Bear of the Greely Relief Expedition. The ceremony was solemnized at St. James, Mo., and of that happy union two children were born, Emory and Jenny.

Henriette (Emory) Wishon; daughter of Azro Emory - he was born Azro EMERY 18 Nov 1819 Windham, Windham Co., Vermont, the son of Amos Emery & Hannah Elliot. For whatever reason the name changed to EMORY when Azro went to Missouri. This
EMORY ultimate ancestors where Anthony Emery who came to New England with his brother, John in 1635.

In poor health for several months, Henrietta, the widow of A G Wishon, was moved from Fresno to a Santa Barbara hospital to convalesce. After 2 weeks of improvement, she died suddenly of a heart attack.

The funeral was held at the family home on Huntington Boulevard in Fresno.

The home on Huntington is noted for the 8 story tall redwood tree that is recognized as being the Nation's Tallest, Living, Lighted and Decorated Christmas Tree. The tree is still decorated and lit with electric lights each year, just as A G and Henrietta Wishon kept it lit each Christmas while they lived there.
