Mr. Priest, 54 years old, was born March 13, 1927, near East Prairie, a son of Jess and Mary Fobar Priest. On Oct. 8, 1950, he was married to Alta Jackson, who survives.
Mr. Priest was raised in East Prairie, and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army. He was self-employed as a builder, moving to Jackson from Charleston about 20 years ago.
He was a member of a Baptist Church in St. Louis.
In addition to his wife survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Shane (Joyce) Johnston, Jackson, and Mrs. Kenneth (Gwen) Maloney, Jackson Route 2, his mother Charleston, two brothers, Charles Lee Priest, Parsons, Tenn, and Charles Thomas Priest, Cape Girardeau, seven sisters, Mrs. Robert Thompkins, Mrs. Raymond Brown, and Mrs. Ed duty, all of East Prairie, Mrs. George Sanders, Granite City, Ill., Mrs. Jim Mainer and Miss Edith Priest, both of Cape Girardeau, and Mrs Bobby Ray, Clinton, Ky. and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Gene Priest in 1955.
The body is at the Cracraft Miller Funeral Home here where friends may call after 3 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery here.
