Raymond, as a seventeen year old in 1920, was working as a railroad clerk, working his way up over the years to become the Chief Train Dispatcher, for the Reading Railroad at 12th & Market streets in Philadelphia. A position of great responsibility.
Raymond married Caroline "Carrie" Marie Marlin in 1922 or 1923 in Elkton, Maryland.
Ray was also a lifelong avid "Ham" radio operator who built much of his own radio equipment. In their later years Raymond and his wife Carrie maintained homes in both Bucks County and Tampa, Florida. Their Bucks County home at the time of his death was at 702 Hulmeville Avenue, Langhorne Manor, the longtime home of his wife Carrie's parents.
