Alice Frances Cartte, of Woodlands Retirement Community died Monday, August 25, 2008. She was born July 30, 1908 in Logan County, WV, a daughter of the late Mary and George Altizer.
She was also preceded in death by
her husband, Chauncey H. Cartte;
one daughter, Mary Alice Basham.
Alice was a retired elementary school teacher for Cabell County and a longtime member of Guyandotte United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law,
Charles and Evelyn Cartte of Richmond, VA;
three grandchildren, Aaron, Tracy and Charles;
six great grandchildren;
one sister and brother-in-law, Iris and Arthur Sammons.
Funeral service at Beard Mortuary, Huntington with the Rev. Ronald Brooks and the Rev. Julia Bolling officiating. Burial in Oaklawn Cemetery.
