Daniel Lafayette Bales, 73, of Ball passed away Friday, August 5, 2011 at Grace House, Alexandria.

Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13 at The Pentecostals of Alexandria in the Family Room of the G. A. Mangun Center. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 with the Rev. E. M. Bonnette, Rev. B. G. Dyess and Joseph Bales officiating.

Daniel was born August 18, 1937 in Seminole, Oklahoma, graduated from Keota High School, and obtained his BS Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.

He served 12 years in the US Army. He also loved teaching Junior High Math and Science.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolphus "Dolph" Lafayette and Nellie Jane Short Bales; one brother, Joseph Andrew Bales; two sisters, Peggy Bales and Juanita Bales Chance.

Survivors include, Carolyn Dyess Bales of Ball; two sons, Joseph Carl Bales and partner Shannon of Bryan, Texas; Terry Daniel Bales and wife Vicki of Alexandria; two daughters, Karen Bales Rubenstein and husband Gary of Alexandria, Debbie Sue Bales Morgan and husband Frank of Skiatook, Oklahoma; one sister, Bonnie Bales Culwell of Celina, Texas; ten grandchildren, Terris Kay Rubenstein Whitlock and husband, Jared, Carly Renee Bales, Carl Daniel Bales, Erin Elizabeth Price, Joseph Cyle Bales, Zachary Terrence Bales, Hannah CarolAnn Rubenstein, Ryleigh Jayde Rubenstein, Cameron Royal Rubenstein and Sarah Danielle Rubenstein.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Fred Williams, St. Joseph Hospice, and Grace Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the adoption fund of Maximus Joseph Rubenstein. Donations may be sent to: Karen Bales Rubenstein, Post Office Box 13807, Alexandria, La 71315.
