The death of Elias York, one of Sebewa township's well known and highly esteemed residents, occurred at the family home, six miles from Portland, Friday afternoon, following an illness of two years. The late Mr. York was a native of Sebewa having been born in that township 65 years ago. In 1889 he was united in marriage to Lucinda Wilson, who, together with seven daughters survive. They are: Mrs. Laura Weaver, Mrs. Joseph (Ethel) Schnabel, Mrs. Ross (Gladys) Tran and Miss Muriel of Sebewa, Mrs. Warren Luscher of Danby, Mrs. Percy (Nettie) Andrus of Lansing and Mrs. Fred (Mabel)Scheurer of Orange. The funeral was held from the residence, Monday forenoon.
