Thomas Ivan Brite, 69, passed away Friday in his home in Hurley. He is survived by his wife, Harriet, of Hurley and several brothers and sisters. T.I. had served in the U.S. Army, and worked as a security guard at Kennecott for many years. He was born in Golden and lived in Santa Fe, La Mesa, Texas, and San Antonio, Texas, and then moved to the Grant County area where he lived the remainder of his life. Mr. Brite was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bayard and the Elks Lodge of Silver City. Services were held today at 10 am with visitation from 8-9:30 a.m. in the chapel of Curtis-Bright Funeral Home in Silver City. Interment followed in Memory Lane Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Miller of The First Baptist Church of Bayard officiated. Arrangements were by the Curtis-Bright Funeral Home of Silver City
