Robert F. "Hoss" Adams, 74, of Adel, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011, at Langdale Hospice House.
He was born December 6, 1936 in Douglas, Ga., to the late Ernest and Latisha Batten Adams. He lived most of his life in Cook County and was a contractor with Daniels Construction and co-owner and operator of Adel Shoe Shop. He was also a member of Springhead Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by two brothers James Adams and Jerry Adams and a sister Florence Purvis.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Shirley Stripling Adams of Adel; son, Ronnie Adams of Albany, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Tim White of Miami, FL; three grandchildren and a spouse, Shelley Adams of Hahira, Justin White of Miami, and Lindsey and Josh Heidelberg of Miami; three great-grandchildren, Kylie Hughes and Kailyn Hughes, both of Hahira, and Jaxdon Heidelberg of Miami .
