Helen (Dillard) Westbrook, 85, of Green Creek, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2001, at Mary Black Hospital, Spartanburg, South Carolina.
A native of Transylvania County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Christopher Lynch Dillard (1881-1953) and Bessie Laura (Picklesimer) Dillard (1885-1963), and the wife of Paul Westbrook.
She was a teacher in Polk County for 23 years at Sunnyview, Mill Spring, Saluda and Green Creek elementary schools. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Georgia Ormand of Campobello, South Carolina, and Patricia Schaeffer of Morrisville, North Carolina; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services were held Friday, September 14, 2001 in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, North Carolina, conducted by the Rev. Jim Chrisawn.
Memorials were made to New Hope United Methodist Church Building Fund.
