Private family services for Kimiko Dillon, 79, of Copperas Cove, will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 23 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with Bishop Nathaniel Holcomb officiating.

Mrs. Dillon died peacefully Aug. 12, 2011, at her residence surrounded by family. She was born Jan. 1, 1932, in Osaka, Japan, to Matsuzo and Hisa Tanimura. She came to the U.S. in 1955 after her marriage to Louis T. Dorsey. The couple had three children.

Kimiko married Cletus Dillon in 1985, and they remained together until his death in 2005. Mrs. Dillon was a cherished matriarch whose faith and devotion to God allowed her to overcome the many challenges that she and her family faced. She is remembered for her kindness, generosity, a strong work ethic and for being loved by all those who came to know her.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Priscilla and Ronald Clark of Copperas Cove; her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Laurence Dorsey of Washington, D.C.; her son, Zeb Dorsey of Bayville, N.J.; five grandchildren, Christina, Matthew, Natasha, Stephen and Julien; and four great-grandchildren, Marico Jr., Omari, Trinity and Brandon; and numerous relatives in Japan and friends across the country.

Chisolm's Family Funderal Home in Copperas Cove is in charge of arrangements.
