Dorothy Marion Biedryck, 83, of San Antonio, Texas passed away at home on Monday, August 15, 2011. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 6, 1928. She graduated from Northwestern University (Evanston School of Nursing) in 1949. Her first nursing experience was in the acute polio wing at Evanston. After that she secured her dream job as a stewardess nurse for the Cincinnati-Detroit run of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad.

Dorothy retired in 1955 to marry Matthew Biedryck and selflessly raise her family of 3 children. She returned to nursing for another 15 years and specialized in occupational health, working as a nurse for a local department store and various automotive plants in Dayton, Ohio.

After retirement, she and her husband relocated to Las Vegas, NV where the lights and excitement provided much fulfillment. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Sell and Theresa Carson Sell, and her sister, Arline Sell Tynan.

She is survived by her loving husband, Matthew; son, Ted Biedryck and daughter-in-law, Sandy Cors Biedryck of Dove Canyon, CA; son, Mark Biedryck of Houston; daughter, Connie Biedryck Buntley and son-in-law, Hal Buntley of San Antonio, TX; granddaughters, Christina Cruz of California, Michelle Cruz of Austin, TX, and Carolyn Cruz of San Antonio, TX; brother Raymond Sell and sister-in-law, Mary Sell of Boulder, CO as well as loving nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass was held on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at St. Padre Pio Catholic Church in San Antonio. Burial service will be on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 9:30 A.M. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
