Judge Morris was admitted to practice law in 1898. He and his father went into the practice of law together until his father's death in 1906.
Beginning in 1906, Judge Morris was the Commissioner of Chancery Court and his next law partnership was with Moses Morris which continued until the fall of 1912. At that time Presley Morris was appointed Judge of the Second Judicial Circuit of West Virginia.
Seven children were born to Judge Morris and Nancy Barr.
