Being the oldest in such as large family (sister Marie died in infancy), Frank had to take on responsibility at a young age. When he turned 9, he began to help his father in his "general store." After grade school, he attended a business school to learn the art of setting up and running a business.
He met Frances Ellen Kellogg who was born to Anna Maria Carter and Bishop Robert Kellogg on 20 December 1887 in St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. As a young girl, Frances was baptized in the Catholic faith. She and Frank were married in St. John Baptist Catholic Church in Hugo, Minnesota on 24 November 1910. In their eary years of marriage, Frances played the piano in a "silent movie" theater, while her husband, Frank, ran the movie projector.
After their marriage, Frank continued to work with his father in the family business. In 1922, Frank and his family moved to Indiana where he joined his brother-in-law, Lee Sadler, in the S & L (Sadler & Latendresse) Gravel Company. After moving to several small towns in northern Indiana, they settled in Marion, Indiana in 1926. Here, they lived in a beautiful large house with a small swimming pool situated on eleven acres of land with hills for sledding in the winter. In Marion, Frank continued in the gravel business.
In 1942, the family made their final move to Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana, where Frank joined his brother, James, in the "Standard Life Insurance Company."
Frank and Frances were blessed with 13 children. The first seven were born in Minnesota: Bealuh, the oldest, entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Robert never married; Lloyd moved to Decatur, Illinois and married Mary Shiels; Albert married Virginia Carey in Marion, Indiana and later settled in Chicago, Illinois; Lyle married Esther Jacob from Marion, Indiana in Baltimore, Maryland; Annabelle married Louis Krieg and lived in Indianapolis, Indiana; Florence married James Bryner, Kenneth Waldo, John Porter, and Robert Motz. The rest of the children were born in Indiana: Richard married Marcella Greisser, moved to Wisconsin and later settled in California; Rose Marie married Robert Beckom and later Orman McKinley; Elizabeth "Betty" married John Stahl; Doris married James Kenney; Frank married Doris Chatfield; and Paul married Carol Nancy Pitsenberger.
Frank died of cancer in 1944 at the young age of 55. His funeral mass was in St. Paul's Catholic Church in Marion, Grant, Indiana and he was buried in Grant Memorial Park.
