Frances Ellen Kellogg was born on 20 December 1887 in Oneka, Washington, Minnesota, to Sgt. Bishop Robert Kellogg (1841-1913) and Anna "Annie" Maria Carter (1850-1937). Frances had 7 siblings; Charles (b. 1865), Rebecca M (b.1868), Luella (b. 1871), Fred Lewis (b. 1877), Florence (1880-1840), Robert Henry (b. 1883), John Rudolphus (b.1891). Frances was baptized Catholic. She married Frank Joseph Latendresse (1889-1944) on 24 November 1910 at the St. John Baptist Catholic Church in Hugo, Washington, Minnesota. In their early years of marriage, Frances played the piano in a silent movie theater while Frank ran the projector. Frank and Frances had 13 children. In 1922, the family moved from Minnesota to Indiana. The first seven were born in Minnesota: Bealuh, the oldest, entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Robert never married; Lloyd moved to Decatur, Illinois and married Mary Shiels; Albert married Virginia Carey in Marion, Indiana, and later settled in Chicago, Illinois; Lyle married Esther Jacob from Marion, Indiana in Baltimore, Maryland; Annabelle married Louis Krieg and lived in Indianapolis, Indiana; Florence married James Bryner, Kenneth Waldo, John Porter, and Robert Motz. The rest of the children were born in Indiana: Richard married Marcella Greisser, moved to Wisconsin and later settled in California; Rose Marie married Robert Beckom and later Orman McKinley; Elizabeth "Betty" married John Stahl; Doris married James Kenney; Frank married Doris Chatfield, and later, Frances Arnold; and Paul married Carol Nancy Pitsenberger.
Frances passed away on 7 September 1970 in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana. She is buried next to Frank at Grant Memorial Park, in Marion, Grant, Indiana.
