John F. Scally of 485 North Spring St., died early Sunday evening at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Scally was born in Providence, R.I., a son of the late Thomas and Margaret (Kelly) Scally. Before his retirement, he was an employee of Uniroyal, Inc. for 47 years, where he had been a lab supervisor. He was a graduate of Mt. St. Mary's College in Emmitsburg, Md., a member of the Lodge of Elks, AARP and a communicant of St. Francis Church.
Mr. Scally leaves his wife, Mrs. Agnes (Krone) of Naugatuck, a daughter Miss Brenda M. Scally of Cambridge, Mass, a sister, Mrs. Margaret Ward of Naugatuck; a brother, Robert L. Scally of San Diego, Calif, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., to St. Francis Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 9 with the Rev. John K. Lynch officiating. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery with Fr. Lynch saying the committal prayers.

The funeral of John F. Scally of 485 North Spring St. was held today at 8:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Funeral Home to St. Francis Church for a Mass of Christian. Burial at 9 a.m. with the Rev. John Lynch officiating.
Burial was in St. James Cemetery with Fr. Lynch saying the committal prayers. Madeline Baker was the organist and Mrs, James Farrar was the soloist. Bearers were Thomas and Robert Ward, David Barnes, Thomas Scally, Robert Kissane and Richard Clark.
A delegation from Breen's consisted of. Mrs; Keating, Mrs McDermott, Mrs. Stinsdir, Mrs. Breen and Mrs. Schultz. Mr. Edward Hennessey represented the Naugaluck Lodge of Elks.
