Donald J. Thibodeaux age 69 of Liberty, Texas died Monday August 15, 2011 in Beaumont, Texas with his loving family by his side.

Donald was born in Lafayette, Louisiana August 9, 1942, the son of the late Lodis Thibodeaux and Belle Blanchard Thibodeaux.

Donald worked off shore for numerous years, spending time in all parts of the world constructing oil rigs. He last worked on the Auger, an oil rig in the gulf, which is the largest and the farthest one from shore. He was an avid fishermen, who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. When not at his beloved lake house on Lake Livingston, he could be found at one of his grandchildren's school or sporting events.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a brother, Bobby Lee Thibodeaux.

Donald leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Alice Thibodeaux of Liberty, daughter LaDonna Pope and her husband Bobby of Liberty, his brother George Thibodeaux of Liberty, his sister Barbara Fondon of Crowley, Louisiana, his granddaughter Ashley Pope, his grandson Jackson Pope, special friends Harold and Mary Harris and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Thursday August 18, 2011 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis Liberty, Texas.

Burial to follow in Liberty Catholic Cemetery in Liberty.~
