Dr. Thomas Harvey Murray was an Assistant Surgeon with the 4th Tennessee Cavalry (Union) during the Civil War. He moved into Circleville, KS after the War. He first married Nackey West born Aug 31 1832 who died 3 Jan 1879. In the June 5, 1880 census for Circleville, he was a Physician, a widower with six children from his first marriage ranging in ages 2-21. The eldest boy was studying to become a doctor. On Nov 17, 1880 he remarried a woman 28 yrs his junior, Mary Jane 'Mollie' Marts born Aug 30 1860 Ottumwa, Wapello Co IA d. 1902/1903 Pueblo CO. With his 2nd wife he had additional children. After his death, his 2nd wife remarried a Mr. Bryant and moved first to Wichita, KS. (13 Feb 1896 Westmoreland Recorder reported 'Mollie has married a Mr. Bryant and has moved from Holton to Wichita'.
