Ophelia May Robacker Black was the daughter of Samuel J Robacker and Mattie Aungst Robacker. Ophelia also was sister to Avery Winfield Robacker who married Anna Laura Reardon. Ophelia Black and her husband, Clinton Ellsworth Black had three children: Robert C Black who married Ruth Harris, James who died in 1932 about age 19, and Ellen who married twice. Ophelia died as result of the Great Flu Epidemic at age 26, leaving a devastated widower and three motherless children. Her spouse, Clinton brought them to California and his mom and dad gave the children much love while Clint continued to work. Shortly thereafter, Clint lost his father in 1927. Ophelia played the piana and her mom, Mattie Aungst Robacker belonged to the Pythians where Ophelia sang and played the piano. We lost sweet Ophelia, as they say, before her time. But with fortitude the family survived while never forgetting her. Ophelia is my cherished grandmother.
