MADISON -- Henry A. Bowring Jr., died Thusday, Nov. 20, 2003, at MaineGeneral Hospital in Waterville. He was born in Madison on Feb. 28, 1926, to Henry A. Bowring Sr., and Alice Meservey Bowring of Madison.
He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers, Pearley, Milo and Maurice Bowring of Madison.
Henry was married to June Bailey Bowring. He enjoyed picking fiddleheads and going camping. Henry served in the Navy.
Besides his wife, he is survived by sons, Patrick Waugh and Henry Jr., and daughters Wanda Hoskins and Ruby Gordon of Madison, Floann Van Hoose of Brazoria, Texas, and Brenda, Diane, Kathleen, Marilyn, Peggy and Geraldine, all out of state; his sister, Geraldine Damren; one brother, Merton Bowring of Madison; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Henry's life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, at his home in Madison.
