Harold Daniel Lashmit, 72, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, at Lexington Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Clyde Akers and Tommy Hepler. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park with military rites by VFW Post 3074.
Mr. Lashmit was born March 2, 1930, in Davidson County to Robert B. Lashmit and Aval Arlene Brewer Lashmit. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the VFW Post 3074, a life member of the DAV Chapter N.C. 39 and a member of American Legion Post 8. He was a retired supervisor with Proctor-Schwartz Co. and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Lashmit.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Lashmit and Ronnie Lashmit, both of Lexington; one stepson, Clay West of Mocksville; two daughters, Teresa Lashmit and Donna Eaton, both of Lexington; one stepdaughter, Janie Laxton of Lexington; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Arlene L. Swing of Lexington, Ronelle L. Summit of Salisbury and Donnelle L. Harmon of Thomasville.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home and other times at the home of a daughter, Earwood Lane, Lexington.
