Solon Taylor Mower and Alice Comings Bartlett were both born in Cornish, NH and were married in Claremont, NH April 13, 1869. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at the home of their son, Will S. Mower on April 13, 1929. From The Vermont Journal, April 18, 1929.

"The community was shocked to learn of the death of Mrs. Solon T. Mower on Wednesday morning, June 19 at Stowell Memorial hospital, Claremont, N. H., where she had been operated upon Tuesday afternoon after a two days' illness.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal church on Saturday afternoon with the pastor, Rev. William T. Best, officiating. Burial was in the family lot in Ascutney cemetery. The pall bearers were nephews of the deceased, Samuel L. King of Danvers, Mass., Leo M. Sargent of East Lansdowne, Pa., Myron E. Lamb of Leominster, Mass., and Frank M. Wright of Windsor.

Alice Comings Bartlett was born Dec. 13, 1850, in Cornish, N. H., the daughter of Gilman and Angelina Comings Bartlett. She was married April 13, 1869, to Solon Taylor Mower and the greater part of the 60 years of their married life has been spent in Windsor and West Windsor. Five children were born to this union, two of whom died in infancy. The daughter, Mrs. Burt Wellman, died in 1919 and a granddaughter, Mrs. Beatrice Wellman Wilson, died in 1920.

Mrs. Mower is survived by her aged husband, two sons, Fred G. of South Lancaster, Mass., and Will S. of Windsor with whom Mr. and Mrs. Mower have made their home for several months; four grandchildren, Miss Stella A. Mower, a missionary in Peru, Harold K. Wellman of Pittsburg, Pa., Miss Miriam A. Mower of Windsor, and Miss Marguerite M. Mower of Lytchfield Village, N. Y.; three great – grandchildren; also a brother, Leonard S. Bartlett of Springfield, Mass., and a sister, Mrs. Marion P. Wood, of Windsor."
