Mrs. Verdie Dugger Miller, 93, of Butler, Tennessee, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at Lakebridge Care Center after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Miller was a Flatsprings, North Carolina native and lived in Johnson county for most of her life. She was the daughter of George and Elizabeth Elliot Greene. She was a homemaker and a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, W. F. Dugger in 1967; her second husband, Jake Miller; one son, Norman E. Dugger and one sister, Nina Parsons.

Survivors include two sons, one brother, 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday from the Sugar Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Doug Renshaw officiating, music will be by the Sugar Grove Quartet. Burial will follow in the Sugar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Hux-Lipford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
