Leslie Kyle Davidson, age 81, died on Sunday, April 8, 2001 at a local hospital. He was born on October 30, 1919 in Canada, the son of Kyle and Ada (Dunbar) Davidson. Leslie attended Madison East High School. He proudly served his country in the Army during World War II in Italy and Africa. He married his first wife of 45 years, Leona (Hericks) Davidson; she preceded him in death in 1986. Leslie married his current wife, Florence Wiese-Davidson. He was employed as a machinist for Gisholt, Madison, and Cre-Paco, Lake Mills. Leslie was a lifetime member of the VFW and currently of VFW Post 7591, was currently a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church and a past member of St. Albert the Great and Sacred Hearts of Jesus & Mary churches. He enjoyed singing in the church choirs and the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Florence; children, Deanna (Mike) Sheehan, Steve (Ellie) Davidson, Sue (Lou) Mezei, Mary (Don) Smith and Rick Davidson; stepchildren, Shirley (Joe) Reinke, Bev (Terry) Reynolds and Colene Hodges; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, 17 step-great-grandchildren and a step-great-great-grandson; brothers, Elwood (Doreen) Davidson and Kenny (Joan) Davidson; and a sister, Esther (Ernie) Gerber. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Leona; his parents; son, Gary; a stepdaughter, Marilynn Stenjem; and a brother, Arnold Davidson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Dennis Catholic Church, 505 Dempsey Road, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2001. Father Kent Schmitt will preside, with burial to follow at Sun Prairie Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at St. Dennis Catholic Church from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2001, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. WSJ 4/10/2001
