Survivors: wife, Mary; daughter, Kay Ryff; three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edmund Dale Tharp (1935-2000) and Dennis Tharp (1940-1981). Dale died in Colorado and Dennis in Kansas.
