He was born at Lyons Falls November 24, 1907, son of Michael and Sarah Tuffy Beck, and married the former Luella Sullivan November 22, 1934, in this village.
Mr. Beck was superintendent at the local mill from 1927 to 1962 and was employed as a caretaker at the Bisby Lodge of the Adirondack League Club at Old Forge from 1963 to 1973.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Moose River Fish and Game Club.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Thelma) Kirch, Port Leyden, and Miss Mary Agnes Beck, New York City; two sisters, Mrs. Alfred (Margaret) Rocker and Mrs. Wesley (Mary) Scouten, both of Port Leyden; a brother, Donald Beck, Lyons Falls; and five grandchildren.
The funeral was July 19, 1986, at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Port Leyden. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Port Leyden.
