Raymond Wesley Aldridge, 88, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, Jan 14, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Aldridge was born Oct. 5, 1921 in Kennett. He was a member of South Poplar Bluff General Baptist Church, and had retired as a skilled Carpenter. Mr Aldridge enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, camping, fishing and hunting.
On July 8, 1944 he married Mattie Bell Kearnbey in Corning, Ark. She survies.
In addition to his wife Mr. Aldridge is survived by two sons: Kenneth W. Aldridge and wife Carol of Poplar Bluff and Garry L. Aldridge of Williamsville; four grandchildren:
Tracy Peters and Kenneth W. Aldridge, Jr. both of Poplar Bluff, Tammy Dabbs of Fisk, and Christina Kirby of Springfield; five great grandchildren: Nocona Sanders, Marissa Peters, Elihue Peters all of Poplar Bluff and Lane Dabbs and Cami Dabbs both of Fisk; a brother L.C. Aldridge of Hardy, Ark., and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, Harry J. and Maudie Ann (Dye)Aldridge, two sisters, Lillian Gilbert and Linnie Shoemake, and four brothers, Earve, Henry, Leonard and William "Pete" Aldridge preceded him in death.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff
