Mary Alice GOODNER, 87, Miller's Merry Manor, Logansport, and formerly of Fulton, passed away at 7:23 p.m. Thursday at Miller's Merry Manor, Logansport. She was born on Nov. 29, 1919, in Lucerne, the daughter of Claude Earl and Elsie L. (Murray) Hendee. On Dec. 17, 1941, in Fulton, she married Walter R. Goodner. He preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 1984. Mrs. Goodner had been a homemaker and a loving child care provider in the Fulton community for more than 40 years. She was a member of the Fulton Baptist Temple, where she enjoyed attending Bible school, was a member of the Awana Club, WE Club and Mount Olive Club. She enjoyed crocheting and reading.
Survivors include her daughters, Jean Ann Cooley, Macy (Nyona Lake), Linda and husband David Fincher, Fort Wayne; grandchildren, David Cooley and companion Denece Correll, Macy,
Donna and husband Harold McCalla, Rochester, Don and wife Laura Cooley Jr., Arizona, Melissa and husband Ron Turner, Indianapolis, Teresa and husband Dane Mathews, Huntington, Whitney and husband Tyler Daugherty, West Lafayette, Stephanie and husband Cory Costello, West Chester, Ohio, Garrett and wife Natalie Cain, West Chester, Ohio; 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothea King; son-in-law, Don Cooley; greatgrandson,
Jayson McCalla.
Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Revs. Dane Mathews and Bruce Russell officiating. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Fulton Cemetery, Fulton. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation or to the Fulton Baptist Temple. Online condolences may be sent to [email protected].
