Eleanor Ann Tucker 7/4/17 - 5/12/04
Eleanor Ann Tucker of Sandy, Utah, formerly of Bandon, Oregon, died Wednesday, the 12th of May of complications incident to diabetes.

Born on the 4th of July in 1917 to Marion and Clarence Brooks, she graduated from Whittier College and married William Jefferson Tucker on 30 April 1938. They were later sealed to each other and to their children in the Mesa Arizona temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

A devoted mother, Eleanor also taught elementary school and later worked teaching reading to children with learning disabilities. In 1978, she was named Teacher of the Year for the southwest Oregon Region and named First Runner-up for Oregon Teacher of the Year.

Eleanor will be remembered most for her generosity of spirit. She gave willingly of her money and time, constantly serving others. She never complained and continually shared her beautiful smile and quick wit.

Preceded in death by her husband, Bill (1909-1991); and a grandson, Brooks Tucker Wilson (February 1977); she is survived by brothers Jim (Pat) of Seal Rock, OR; and Donald Brooks of Langlois, OR; and by four loving children: son John (Terri) of Graham, WA; and daughters Noranne of Reedsport, OR; Susie (Rick) Blanchard of Eugene, OR; and Laurie Wilson of Sandy, Utah. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, with another due this summer.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 19th at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 9th and Delaware in Bandon, Oregon.

Friends may call at a viewing from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18th, at the Amling-Schroeder Funeral chapel at 125 SW 8th Street in Bandon, or the hour preceding funeral services at the LDS Church in Bandon.

Interment at Myrtle Grove Cemetery in Coquille, Oregon, at noon.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, the 22nd of May at 10 a.m. at the Atria Retirement Community at the corner of 700 E. and 11000 S. in Sandy, Utah.
