Alvena married Richard Romain Mann 30 October 1899 in Dubuque, County Iowa and they lived in Richland Twp, Jackson, Iowa where they are found of the 1900 census. Here is where their two sons, Leslie Arthur and Gordon Lee were born.
By 1910 the family had moved to Los Angeles County, California where they lived the rest of their lives.
