Paul Hutson Sanford, 76, of Jackson died September 15, 1994, of renal failure. Mr. Sanford is survived by his wife, Fay Sprinkle Sanford, and his three children, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a sister.

Mr. Sanford was the son of Hutson and Josie Sorrells Sanford. His brothers were the late William Earl Sanford of Lambert and Bobby Sorrells Sanford who was killed during World War II. Mr. Sanford was the nephew of the late Laura Turner of Marks.

Mr. Sanford was a veteran of World War II. He was captured by the Japanese on Corregidor and survived the Bataan death March. He was a prisoner of war for thirty-nine months.

Mr. Sanford made a career of the Army and served in Germany, Kentucky, and California. After his retirement he was an ROTC instructor in the Jackson Public Schools.
