Margaret Pettyjohn of Atlanta, born July 13, 1913, passed away August 29, 2003.

She was born in Shelby County, Tennessee, to William Joseph Pettyjohn and Ruby McPherson Pettyjohn. Margaret was a Dietary Consultant, having worked many years in and about all phases of nutrition. She was a past president of the Mississippi Dietetic Association. Her last years before her retirement were spent as a Dietary Consultant for nursing homes in several states.

She is a lifelong Methodist, currently a member of Sandy Springs United Methodist Church and Pacesetters Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her brother, W. Joseph Pettyjohn Jr., sister-in-law, Carolyn D. Pettyjohn, nieces, Anne Provost and Jennifer Byrnes, nephew William J. Pettyjohn III and five great-nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at Sandy Springs Chapel at 11 AM, with Rev. Jeannette Purvis officiating. Miss Pettyjohn will be carried to Marks, MS for services and interment. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sandy Springs United Methodist Church, 86 Mt. Vernon Hwy, Atlanta, GA 30328. The family will receive friends Tuesday, one hour prior to the service at Sandy Springs Chapel of Funeral Directors, 136 Mt. Vernon Hwy. 404-255-8511.
