SSgt. U.S. Army, World War II-SSgt. Robison was wounded in battle on 6-13-1944, and died the following day at Normandy on 6-14-1944 while serving with the 12th Infantry Regiment of the 4th Infantry Division.

This Division landed at Utah Beach on June 6, 1944, and met light resistance, and relieved the 82nd Airborne Division at Ste Mere-Eglise.

He is the son of Mr. Emery & Mrs. Grace {Lackland} Robinson of Morton, Illinois, and is a 1937 graduate of Morton Twp H.S., and studied at Bradley College for two years before his entry into the Army in March of 1941. He did his training at Camp Wolters, Texas, Fort Dix, New Jersey, and Camp Gordon,

While in the service to his country, he met and married the beautiful Miss Mary Barleta of Pa. in Columbia, South Carolina before he shipped out in January of 1944. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Sam Nicholas of Elgin, Illinois, and Mrs. Irwin Beyer of Morton, Illinois.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, American Defense Medal, American Campaign Medal, European Campaign Medal with One Battle Star, Army Good Conduct Medal.

Footnote: His body was sent home for burial on May 21, 1948. Pvt. Robinson was first buried at the Mausoleum at Springdale in Peoria before Glendale was finished.
