Warren M. Cooley, 80, of 857 Old Furnace Road died Thursday afternoon at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. He had been ill for two months.
He was born Dec. 27, 1890 in Rockingham County and was a son of the late O.B. and Corella Bare Cooley. He lived in Richmond and Roanoke before moving to Harrisonburg in 1955.
He was a sales representative for Arcadia Farms Milling Co. for 18 years before he retired in 1955. He was a member of Overbrook Presbyterian Church in Richmond and the Harrisonburg Elks Lodge.
On Jan. 16, 1912 he married Miss Bertie Liskey who died Oct. 6, 1969.
Surviving are two sons, DeWitt R. Cooley of Keezletown and Warren M. Cooley Jr. of Richmond; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home by the Rev. L.C. Huddle. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends 7:30-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Relatives will meet 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Cooley home.
Pallbearers will be L. Euell, James E. Shomo, G. Don Whitmore, Howard B. Ore, William F. Ward, Jack D. Shifflette, C. Owen Armentrout and Lloyd Hoskins.
