OAKDALE, La. - Alva Young, 73, died at 4:45 p.m. Saturday in an Oakdale hospital after a long illness. He was a retired carpenter. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Maxine Cavazos of Oakdale; one sister, Mrs. Ina Jones of Oakdale, and five granchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Rush Funeral Home chapel in Oakdale. Rev. V. L. Gerald will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven cemetery.
