Mr. Mattice was born in Le Roy, N. Y., son of the late Hiram

and Anna Mattice. At one time he was the superintendent of the General Crushed Stone Company, White Haven. Before illness caused his retirement, he was employed by the Wilmont Engineering Company as a carpenter and later as a watchman. He was a member of White Haven, Methodist Church, IOOF Lodge 457, White Haven. His wife Anna died in 1959.
Surviving are a daughter Marion, at home; Charles, Hazleton; Mrs. Howard Hatmaker, Philadelphia; Mrs. Warren Hildebrand, Pottsville; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. also two brothers, George, Pavillion, N. Y. and Robert, Le Roy, N. Y.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 at Kocher Funeral Home, 502 Towanda Street, White Haven, with Rev Harvey B Simmons, officiating. Interment in Laurel Cemetery, White Haven. Friends may call Thursday 7 to 10 p.m.
