Linda Ruth Konert, 65, of Rogers AR, died August 18, 2011 in Springdale AR, at Circle of Life
Hospice Home after a tough battle with cancer. She was born March 24, 1946, in Garden City,
KS to Martha L. Jones and Donald S. Dunlap.
She was in the food industry for most of her life. Her mother owned and operated many
restaurants over the years.
Linda worked at and ran many of them, until she went into the business for herself. In the last
fifteen years she slowed down a little and was a kitchen manager at Northwest Arkansas
Children's Shelter, which she enjoyed very much and continued to do until 2008.
As Linda slowed down with work she got to enjoy her greatest joy of all, her grandchildren,
Cristina, Cynthia, Levi, Corley, and Wyatt. Not to mention, two great grandchildren Jackson
and Sophia, that knew her as Gi Gi. One thing they all knew about grandma was that she
expected some hard work, but they would be well fed and loved for all of their hard work.
Along with the love for her grandkids she enjoyed working in her flower beds, growing fresh
vegetables, and canning those veggies. We will have a hard time trying to figure out that salsa
recipe!
I think the one thing that everyone will remember about Linda is the fact that you would never
wonder what was on her mind. Whether it was something you had done, what she was
thinking about you, or something she wanted to make sure you knew, Linda was sure to make
you very aware of it.
She was someone that was very real and true. You either loved her or hoped you never ran
into her again! Most of us loved her with all our hearts. She will be truly missed by many.
She had someone in her life that was so special to her; we could only hope to have someone
like that in our own lives. Bobbi Deloach was her best friend. No matter what was going on
with either of them, they were there for each other. The stories we have heard!!!
Linda was preceded in death by her friend and ex husband, Anthony "Tony" Konert, a step
daughter, Susie Pouge, her mother Martha, and her father Donald.
Survivors include two daughters, Candice Grimes, Rhonda Day and husband Dennis. Five
grandchildren Cristina Wishon and husband Charlie, Cynthia Grimes, Levi Ball, Corley and
Wyatt Day; two great grandchildren, Jackson and Sophia Wishon.
She also has three step sons, Anthony Konert, David Konert, Michael Konert, and one step
daughter, Mindy Konert. Step grand children, Dawn Konert, Kyal Morgan, Kerry Scheufler,
Aimee Konert, Danielle Russell, Justin Pouge and Brandon VanNess and many step great
grandchildren.
She has five brothers Stephen Polan, Sam Dunlap, Doug Dunlap, James Dunlap, and John
Dunlap, two sisters Connie Wilson and Cindy Dodson.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00PM, Monday, August 22, 2011 at Stockdale Funeral
Services.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00AM, Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Stockdale Funeral Chapel in
Rogers, with Mr. Jack Eaton officiating. Burial will be at Bentonville Cemetery.
