E. Roy Andrews was my Grandfather. He met my Grandmother, Grace Agnes Steckley, while stationed briefly in Indianapolis IN near the end of WWI. The war ended about a month after he arrived and met Grace; he asked her to marry him and she said 'yes' and they were quickly married and returned to the Andrews' home in Havre de Grace Maryland.

He was a salesman (my Mother wasn't sure of what); his father was the Angel Hill Cemetery caretaker -- a job he handed to his son and Roy's brother Clifford. Roy had two children; my mother Virginia Frances Andrews (Voss), and Donald Harley Andrews. Sadly, Roy died in 1939 at age 42 of a heart-attack, and left Grace widowed with a 17-year old Virginia and a 12-year-old Don. They relocated back to Indianapolis shortly after his death.

Grace Andrews passed away in 1973. My uncle, Don Andrews, passed away in 1984 (at the time he lived in Xenia OH). Virginia passed away in 2016 after living the previous almost-40 years of her life in Carmel Indiana,

Don had one daughter (adopted) with his wife Elizabeth: Terri Andrews Shiromani. Virgina married Emil J. (Mac) Voss in 1947 and had two children -- Stephen Craig Voss(1954) and Brian Douglas Voss (1958).

While Stephen had no children, Brian had three -- Nicole Lee Voss Christensen (1981 -- Brenda Stockberger mother), Evan James Voss [pictured with the family stones] and Riley Pullin Voss (1989 and 1991 respectively, Ann M. Pullin mother). Nikki has three children (E. Roy Andrews' great-great-grandsons and great-granddaughter!).

So while the Andrews family name has now gone into history, their legacy lives on.
