Elder Freelin Vance, 66, of Mt. Gay departed this life on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at Logan Regional Medical Center. He was born on January 18, 1941 to the late Woodrow and Virgie Vance. Also preceding him in death was one son, Freelin (Bug) Vance Jr.

Survivors inlcude his loving wife, Mary
his children; Mark (Mary Ann) Bias of Meadowvine, VA., J. Michael (Marsha) Bradley of Whitman, Woody (Kim) Vance of Craigsville, Tammy (Jimmy) Robertson of Meadowvine, VA. and Christopher Vance at home.
Nine grandchildren; Joseph, Jacob, Seaira, Virginia, T.J., Billy, Austin, Katie and Ezekiel.
One great-grandchild, Zachary
two sisters; Minnie Bell (Jerry) Bryant and Julie Ann (Bill) Cline.

Funeral Services was at the Mt. Moriah United Baptist Church on East Fork of Twelve Pole with Elder Sid Stroud, Elder David Messer, Brother Donnie Gene Maynard and Elder Paul Nelson officiating. Burial in the Gid Vance Family Cemetery on East Fork.
