ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Phillip Shawn Boykins, 46, of St, Louis, Mo., formerly of Amherstdale, passed away suddenly at his residence Tuesday, August 16, 2011.

Born November 11, 1964, in Man, he was a son of the late John Tom Sr. and Betty Jean Boykins. Also preceding him in death was one brother, John Boykins Jr.; two sisters, Mary Boykins and Christine Nelson;l grandparents, Revern and Sadie Boykins, and his step-mother, Martha Watson Boykins.

Phillip was a disabled heavy equipment operator, and a 1983 graduate of Man High School where he played and lettered in football.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Rosalie; one step-son, Kevin Frieson; four sisters, Felicia (Chip) Ferrell, Anna Boykins (Michael Harris), Beatrice (Kerry) Walker and Rena Boykins; four brothers, James (Rhonda) Boykins, William (Carolyn) Boykins, Timothy (Lisa) Boykins and Terry Boykins; two step-sisters, Eunice Watson and Shelia (Norman) Smith; a step-brother, Franklin Watson, and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

Services will be held at noon Tuesday, August 23, at The Original Glorious Church of God at Taplin with Elder Leroy V. Shaw officiating. Burial will follow at Guyan Memorial Gardens at Godby.
