ROBERT W. WIDDICOMBE, 69, of Fort Wayne died yesterday in the Veterans Administration Hospital. The Auburn native had lived in Fort Wayne since 1967.

The Army veteran had been a prisoner of war in Germany during World War II.

In 1982 he retired as president of the Franklin National Investment Corp. and general manager of the Olympia Club. He was a member of American Legion Post 37 and Disabled American Veterans.

Surviving are his wife, Carol R.; sons, Robert A. of Santa Fe, N.M.; Steven of Metarie Louis, Barry of Carmel, Richard of Fort Wayne; a stepbrother, George Anderson of Auburn; a sister, Baryl Palumbo of Leo; and eight grandchildren.

Services are 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, where calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
