Taken from the July 8, 1952 issue of the Owen Leader:

George Adams, 83 years old, died Saturday morning in the Bloomington Hospital, where he had been a patient only a few days. He had been in ill health for some time.

Mr. Adams was born February 15, 1871, in Ohio, a son of Lewis and Margaret (Schmidt) Adams. He was a retired railroader. He had been a member of the Modern Woodmen of America since 1906.

Survivors include the wife; Mrs. Katherine Adams, of Spencer; one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Williams, of Denver, Colorado; one son, Paul L. Adams, of Spencer; one foster daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Stamps, of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Fulliwiller, of Lucasville, Ohio; Mrs. Anna Bradford, of Portsmouth, Ohio; one granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Following death the body was taken to the West & Son Funeral home, where funeral services were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev. W.T. Fleming officiated, and interment was made in the Riverside Cemetery.
