Mr.Hoffman was born June 6,1897 in Westfield,Iowa,son of Charles C. & Anna C.(Heeren) Hoffman.
He married Goldie Godfrey Jan.18,1919 in Sioux City.
They moved here after their marriage,Mrs.Hoffman died on June 11,1962,He then married Mae Clarke on Sept.15,1965 in Akron.
Mr.Hoffman operated Hoffman Gun Repair.
Elmer & Goldie were blessed with six children.
Survivors include their children:Harold,Elmer Jr.,Elizabeth "Libby"(Hoffman)Hassett,Elsie Irene(Edwin)Wickey,Lila Mae & William(Hoffman)Gude;three brothers,Raymond & wife Marie of rural Westfield,George and Clarence both of Sioux City;21 grandchildren;14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents,his frist wife Goldie,a daughter Loretta in infancy. Arrangments are pending at the W.Harry Christy Funeral Home in Morningside.
