Richard Lee was the "cook" in the family. After attending Marquette University, he opened a restaurant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was here that he met and married Marcella Greisser. They had two children, Lynn and Stephen. Later, the family moved to Indianapolis where Richard opened a cafeteria at 49th and Pennsylvania. After a few years, the family moved to Wisconsin where Richard worked as a chef in various restaurants. Later, he moved to California and continued his work as a chef. He was the head chef at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles when Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated. In World War II, Richard served in Germany and Switzerland. He died of a heart attack in 1972, and was buried in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
